1.     The Prophet’s rebellion.

b.     So why would he flee? He did not want to submit.

f.      Maturation. Matthew 14:28-31

h.     We can run from God, but we cannot hide from God.


2.     The Prophet’s prayer.

a.     Jonah 2:1 Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly. 

b.     Pray from where you end up.

c.     Jonah 2:2; Psalm 120:1; Psalm 86:13 

d.     Jonah 2:3; Psalm 88:6

e.     Jonah 2:4; Psalm 31:22; Psalm 138:2

f.      Jonah 2:5; Psalm 69:1-2

h.     Jonah 2:7; Psalm 107:5-6 

i.      Jonah 2:8; Psalm 31:6

l.      We can run to God because He is a God of second chances.


3.     The Prophet’s preaching.

a.     Jonah 3:1-6 

b.     We are to run with God’s message of hope because anyone can repent and be saved.

c.     Jonah 3:10

d.     God showed outrageous grace.


4.     The Prophets anger.

a.     Jonah 4:1-11 

b.     Jonah failed to consider compassion for the Ninevites.

c.     What is your reaction when you run into God?


Conclusion:

·       You cannot be a recipient of God's grace but not a dispenser of it.
