MAIN THEME: 

The day of the Lord is not used to describe a specific time as much as it is mentioned to correlate a time of judgement—a time that belongs solely to the Lord.

JUDGEMENT AND CALL TO REPENTANCE: 

1.     The locust and its severity.  Joel 1:1-4 

2.     The effect upon: 

a.     Drunkards. Joel 1:5-7 

b.     Priests. Joel 1:9 

c.     Farmers. Joel 1:11-12 

d.     Joel. Joel 1:19-20, Joel 1:14 

3.     The coming Day of the Lord brings Judah low. Joel 2:1-5 

a.     There is a call to repentance. Joel 2:10-12

RESTORATION AND FUTURE HOPE:

1.     Change your heart. Joel 2:13 

a.     God desires genuine transformation rather than mere ritual. Isaiah 57:15; Joel 2:15-17

2.     The promise of restoration. Joel 2:25-27 

a.     No matter how much we have lost—spiritually, emotionally, or materially—God can restore and bring newlife.

3.     The prophecy of God pouring out His Spirit on all people. Joel 2:28-32 

4.     God’s judgment will vindicate His people. Joel 3:1-7
