Living by Faith, Not by Law
Galatians 3:1-5
1. Paul confronts their foolishness.
a. Galatians 2:21
b. False teaching rarely begins by denying Christ. It usually begins by addingsomething to Christ.
c. Paul is proving one simple truth: Everything God has done in your life came through faith—not performance.
Galatians 3:6-9
2. Paul proves it from Abraham.
Abraham's Example:
a. Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
b. Abraham was justified by faith alone.
Galatians 3:10-12
3. Paul contrasts faith and law.
a. The Law demands perfection.
b. Faith brings life.
What is biblical faith?
c. Faith is not positive thinking.
d. Faith is not wishful thinking.
e. Faith is personal trust in the faithfulness of God.
f. Faith has value only because of its object.
Galatians 3:13-14
4. Christ became the curse for us.
a. Jesus did what the Law never could.
b. He took our curse; He became our substitute.
c. The cross removed what the Law could only expose.
Conclusion:
The Christian life is not about trying harder—it is about trusting deeper.
We began by faith, we grow by faith, and we will finish by faith.
