What is the Bible?

1. The Bible is a remarkable collection of ancient writings that Christians believe to be God's revelation to people.

The Bible can be understood as a compilation of cohesive contractual agreements, commonly referred to as covenants, that illustrate

the binding nature of God's love demonstrated throughout

the events and history of the world. (AHV)

The Covenant Thread

1. There is one constant thread in the tapestry of the Bible.

a. That Thread is God's Love verbalized through His covenant with mankind!

2. What is a Covenant? It's an agreement between God and his people, in which God makes promises to his people and, usually, requires certain

conduct from them.

Adamic (Edenic) Covenant

1. The Adamic Covenant can be thought of in two parts: the Edenic

Covenant (innocence) and the Adamic Covenant (grace).

The Edenic Covenant is found in Genesis 1:26-30; 2:16-17

a. Edenic Covenant - In Genesis, it was not explicitly called a Covenant;

however, it is later referred to as a covenant in Hosea 6:7.

b. The Edenic Covenant is an example of a Conditional covenant....

Protoevangelium: Proto - First Evangelium - Good News

Both the Edenic Covenant & Adamic Covenant are significant for several

reasons.

First of all, they, establish a pattern to be repeated throughout the Scriptures:

1) Man sins.

2) God Judges the sin,

3) God bestows grace and mercy by providing a way to redeem man and restore man's relationship with God.

Second, the covenants show us that sin always has consequences.

The Edenic Covenant and Adamic Covenant are God's marriage

Ceremony to Mankind!
