LIVING BY FAITH IN THE POWER OF JESUS:

1.     There is hearing the Word, and then there is obeying the Word.

b.     The reaction to being set free is service.

e.     Entertainment seeker. Luke 8:13 

f.      Status seeker. Luke 8:14 

If the devil can’t hinder you with difficulties, he’ll choke you with distractions.

g.     Jesus seeker. Luke 8:15 

h.     The state of our heart determines the fruitfulness of God’s Word. Am I shallow, distracted, hardened, or receptive?

i.       Luke 8:16-18 

j.       Faith is not private—what God plants in us must shine through us.

2.     There is trusting Jesus in the storms of life.

a.     Luke 8:22-25

b.     Our fear vs. Jesus’ authority.

3.     There is freedom in the power of Jesus.

b.     Jesus confronts legion—no power of darkness is greater than Christ.

c.      Luke 8:34-39 

d.     The fear of people vs. the witness of God’s delivering power.

4.     There is a faith that reaches out to touch Jesus.

a.     Luke 8:40-42

b.     Jairus watches as Jesus started heading toward his home and gets interrupted.  

c.      Luke 8:43-48 

d.     Applying faith moves you to reach for Jesus. He honors the personal touch of belief.

e.     Luke 8:49-56 

f.      Even when Jairus heard his daughter was dead, he kept walking with Jesus.
