 Sermon:  A Steadfast Kingdom                                 

TEXT: Hebrews 12:25-29 

God’s Kingdom:

1.    The Kingdom is not silent.

a.    Hebrews 12:25

2.    The Kingdom shaking reveals what is eternal.

a.    Hebrews 12:26-27

Sometimes God allows shaking:

b.    so false foundations collapse.

c.     so temporary things lose their grip on us,

d.    and so eternal things become clear.

What cannot be shaken:     

e.    God’s Word and truth.

f.      God’s Kingdom.

g.    God’s people who stand in Christ.

3.    The Kingdom is present.

a.    Psalm 103:19 

b.    John 3:3 

c.     Luke 17:20-21

d.    The Kingdom is not about ruling earthly territory but about God ruling:

e.    The heart.

f.      The mind.

g.    The will.

h.    The life.

i.      Colossians 1:16 

j.      Earthly kingdoms are temporary.

k.     The Kingdom of Christ is eternal.

l.      Revelation 11:15 

4.    The Kingdom lives.

a.    Hebrews 12:28

b.    We receive the Kingdom by grace.

c.     Our response is to serve God acceptably.

d.    True worship is a surrendered life. 

e.    A surrendered life is an obedient life.

f.      Hebrews 12:29 

g.    1 Thessalonians 5:18
